tuesday afternoon Mixed draw

This league offers curlers the opportunity to curl with different players.  After a draw is completed, players change teams.

Games are at 2:00 p.m.

TBA
What Is Tuesday Afternoon Curling About?

Tuesday afternoon curling is a mixed league that emphasizes the social nature of the sport. The games are six ends beginning at 2:00. Each week teams are made up from those who are present. Although there is a core who curls each week, there are others who attend on a more casual basis.

We welcome all curlers whether they are club members or not ($10 fee is applied when applicable). The curlers socialize afterwards with drinks from the bar or the kitchen. Typically, we leave around 4:00, giving some of us enough time to go home and prepare supper.

Come out and give it a try.
Tuesday afternoon curling is well suited to those who:

1. Work shifts and therefore can't make it every week,
2. Are considering using the stick delivery. Most of the Tuesday curlers use sticks and I am available to give guidance if requested.
3. Might enjoy a league where any level of sweeping activity is accepted - from a few licks to an all-out Al Cormier style.
4. Want to try Sturling - two person teams, no sweeping between the hog lines, get to throw 18 rocks per game (great for practicing a new delivery).
5. Want to use one of the empty sheets to practice.
6. Just want to get out of the house, get a little exercise, and socialize with like-minded people.

Sparing Fees

The sparing fee for non-members and one night members (curling in another league) is now $10.  As well, people can now spare five (5) times in a season before being required to get a membership. (*The sparing fees paid would be deducted from the cost of a full season membership.)

The sparing fee should be collected by the skip who then gives it to the league convenor.

Our curling facility gratefully acknowledges the financial support of the Canadian Curling Association through its Curling Assistance Program.
In December 2014, our club President applied for a CAP grant from the CCA (now Curling Canada) in the Bricks and Mortar section. This April our club was one of 16 successful applicants (out of 75) to receive a grant of $8000.00. This plaque will be displayed in our club lounge. Thank you to the CCA (Curling Canada) for this much needed money, which will help defray many of the costs incurred  with our pipe project and other club upgrades.
